【摘要】:Themeasurementoftotalmoistureisrequiredtodeterminewhethercoalmeetscommercialorenvironmentalspecifications,orboth.Withinthelimitationsprescribedinthescope,thistestmethoddescribesaprocedurefordeterminationoftotalmoisturethatrequireslesstimethantheproceduresdescribedinTestMethodD3302.1.1Thistestmethodcoversasingle-stageprocedureforthedeterminationoftotalmoisturelessthan15%incoalreducedto2.36-mm(No.8sieve)topsize.Thistestmethodisfordeterminationoftotalmoistureonly.Materialssubjectedtothistestshallnotbeusedinthedeterminationofothertestparameters.Itisrecognizedthattheconditionsofthetestcanincreasethepotentialforsignificantoxidationeffectsonsomecoals.Iftheoxidationpotentialisofconcern,theuseofthissingle-stagemethodshallinvolveprioragreementbetweenthepartiesinvolved.Thistestmethodshallnotbeconstruedastherefereestandardtestmethodfortotalmoisture.Forrefereepurposes,usersofthistestmethodarereferredtoTestMethodD3302formoisturedeterminationmethodswhicharenotassusceptibletooxidationeffects.1.2Statisticalanalysisofdatafromseveralsourcesindicatesthatata95%confidencelevel,thereisstatisticallynosignificantdifferencebetweenthemeanvalueoftheresultsobtainedbyD2961andD3302(thatis,nobiasisdetectedbetweenthetwomethodsatthe95%confidencelevel)formoisturelevelsbetween1.4%and15.8%.Thesetwotestmethodswerenotcomparedinthisstudyforsomeranksofcoalincludingligniteandanthracite.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
